Dialogues on Education – NASA CORE

March 19th, 2012 by admin

What does a farmhouse built in 1903 in Oberlin, Ohio, have to do with science education in the 21st century?  A lot more than you might expect, as such a house is the headquarters of NASA CORE, a worldwide distribution center for educational materials from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.  Bob Tayek talks to its Director, Renee Elias, in this informative interview about NASA’s storehouse of materials ranging from posters and DVDs to curriculum development guides and how they are made available to educators at all levels.  If it is about rocketry, astronomy, or a related field, great ways to learn about it are available from this one-of-a-kind facility.   More information can be found at www.nasa.gov and the catalogue at http://corecatalog.nasa.gov/index.cfm.
